Amma’s Onion Tomato

A  few weeks after we got married, Kingsley’s mom (Amma as he calls her) made this particular dish and served it with home made chapathis. I did notice Kingsley eats a LOT more when he is at home (his reason: you will never get this in NZ), and for this particular one, his mom said – Ranjith (as she calls him) loves this. So what did I do? A week ago when we were skyping with her, I asked her how she makes this and I made it for Ranjith – He emptied the bowl!
What you need to make this Onion Tomato dish that goes great with any bread is:
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Jeera
  • Chilli Powder
  • Oil
  • Salt to Taste
Heat some oil in a pot. Add the jeera, followed by the onions. Next add in the tomatoes and chilli powder and ofcourse the salt. It will cook down and the onions will become soft.
NOTE: You add equal amounts of onions and tomatoes. So for 2 tomatoes, add 2 onions.
