Mummies of breast fed babies are always in need of nutritious healthy treats! But between nappy changes, feeding and a quick shower, mums can find it hard to make something for themselves! These no bake lactation bites are great as you don’t need to wait for the oven to finish baking, or for it to finish cooking over the stove top! All you need is a big bowl to mix all the ingredients together …. if you don’t fancy mixing it with your hand, then grab a food processor and let it to do the job!
These are great for mummies, or even dads! hah! The brewers yeast + oats + flax seed are the perfect combo to increase your milk supply! Make these ahead and stick them in the freezer and pull it out to thaw when you need it. Or if you know of a bf mum, make these and drop them off at their door step! I am sure they will appreciate it!
2 cups old fashioned oats
2 tbsp brewers yeast
1 cup peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
1/2 cup flaxseed (ground)
1/2 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chocolate chips
In a bowl add all the dry ingredients together: oats, brewers yeast, chocolate chips and brewers yeast. Mix together well and then add the peanut butter, honey and vanilla.
If you own a food processor, put the ingredients together and mix.
Take around 2 tbsp of the oat mixture and roll them out into balls. Place on a plate lined with baking paper and stick in the fridge for about 30mins to set.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge. They should last well for about 2 weeks !
